Geographical Area of Interventions
10th April, 2020 – 9th August, 2020
Brief description of project activities
Awareness regarding COVID-19, Installation of Washing places, Provision of PPEs and Hand compression pumps
PADO with the support of NCA is working to prevent COVID-19 spread through WASH initiative in District Peshawar. PADO interventions created awareness for the prevention of COVID-19 among vulnerable communities through the airing of messages on radio, display of Government of KP approved messages and printing, and posting of IEC material while loudspeaker was used to spread the key messages in targeted areas. In order to lessen the risk of infections to people who are in close contact with COVID-19 patients, PADO provided PPE to sanitary workers for disinfection activities. This will protect the sanitary workers and will further prevent transmission. PADO has installed temporary handwashing stations at public places such as marketplaces, healthcare facilities, places of worship, and public transport while basic hand hygiene kits were distributed among the vulnerable populations for promotion of good hygienic habits and hand washing. For disinfectant use, PADO has handed hand compression pumps along with chlorine to the Tehsil Municipal Authority (TMA) offices. PADO will maintain COVID-19 humanitarian operations while taking precautions to ensure the safety of staff and the beneficiaries.
