Safe Water, Healthier Communities

📍 Location:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

“

"We used to walk for hours to fetch dirty water. Now, the tap is in our village, and our children are healthy and happy."

Published with informed participant consent

In remote mountainous villages, accessing drinking water was a daily chore that fell disproportionately on women and young children. They walked hours down steep ravines to bring back heavy containers of contaminated water.

By installing solar-powered pump schemes, PADO has brought clean water straight to distribution nodes within villages. Clean water has reduced water-borne infections, saved countless hours, and allowed children to spend their days in classrooms.
